With my train commute I have a lot of time on my hands to read: one hour and twenty minutes one way to be exact. I'm still an old soul, with a preference for worn paperbacks over a sleek little e-reader. Maybe this year I'll finally succumb to the digital trend, but for now - I prefer a stack of books on my nightstand or tucked away in my backpack.
What I'm currently reading:
Seriously, I'm Kidding. By: Ellen Degeneres. I love Ellen, but this is one that I have been trying my best to get through. I think I prefer her as a television host versus an author.
Lonely Planet: India. I'm combing through this book (along with Trip Advisor) for tips, tricks and sights to see when we visit this amazing country. I can't hardly wait!
The Expats. By: Chris Pavone Another one I am having a hard time getting through! The title grabbed me (for obvious reasons) but it's not quite the suspense thriller I hoped it would be.
The Happiness Project. By: Gretchen Rubin I wanted a feel-good book to kick off 2013, and have heard so many positive reviews about this one. It's turning out to be inspiring and heartwarming without being overtly cheesy.
The Satorialist. By: Scott Schuman I love just flipping through the photographs of this street style book. It belongs on our coffee table but some nights I don't feel like reading and want to give my eyes a rest from my blaring iPhone screen. This is a great source of fashion inspiration!

PS: A special happy birthday to my wonderful, funny, gorgeous and brave mama!!

I have to read the Expats for my next months Utrecht book club. I was going to pick it up the weekend before, but if you are having trouble getting through it, I guess I should start sooner vs later.
ReplyDeleteWow. I finished The Expats in one day. I really enjoyed reading it.. I guess it was more about the suspense of finding out who everyone really was and what the crime was. I hated the ending though.
ReplyDeleteI finished Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. I enjoyed parts of it, and other parts I found difficult to get through. In the end though, I really liked it.
Sartorialist is my fave! I have both on my desk if you want to borrow the other one!
ReplyDeleteyou need to start reading chic lit! lol. mindless entertainment.

I am actually reading Seriously, I'm Kidding right now too! There IS some good stuff in there, but I agree some of it is downright cheesy almost and might work better as a live joke rather than in a book.
ReplyDeleteI'm not reading anything at the moment, I simply have no time. But, I've heard great things about The Happiness Project! Your Mom is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI do not even know how I ended up here, but I thought
ReplyDeletethis post was great. I do not know who you are but certainly you're going to a famous blogger if you aren't already ;) Cheers!
