Seeing the
Taj Mahal was one of those grand life wishes but something that I always thought was an unattainable dream. I've been blessed to travel and live in a lot of places - but India was a mysterious land that was too big, too chaotic, too foreign. I always wanted it but didn't actually think it could ever happen.
So when this wish actually materialized into a reality, I was anxiously counting down the days until we arrived to
Agra, the home of the Taj Mahal. To be honest, there really isn't much else to see in Agra so all you need is one night and one day there.
All I wanted to do in
Agra was to sit in the warm grass, bask under the hot sun and admire this incredible monument. Experiencing that was better than I could have ever imagined - to finally make it to a place you have always dreamt of is an unforgettable feeling. It was hands down, one of the highlights of this whole trip - probably of the whole year.

What many people don't know is that its actually a tomb in commemoration of emperor Shan Jahan's wife who died while giving birth to their child. The
Taj Mahal is an expression of the emperor's grief and eternal love - such a beautiful story.
